Put a group of guitarists together and ask them what their dream-machine is, and I can guarantee you a good percentage will name the Gibson ’57 Les Paul Gold Top…it has to be one of the most coveted electric guitars in the history of the instrument.
Now, Gibson’s esteemed Custom Shop has reissued the the ’57 Gold Top, complete with two BurstBucker pickups, original ABR-1 tune-o-matic bridge, and the Gold Top’s trademark antique gold finish.
According to Gibson, this historically accurate recreation offers the same gorgeous sound and sustain of the original ’57 Les Paul.
The Gibson ’57 Les Paul Gold Top Features -
- Carved Maple Top
- Solid Mahogany Back
- 1-piece Mahogany Neck
- Rosewood Fingerboard With Vintage Trapezoid Inlays
- BurstBucker Pickups At Neck & Bridge
- ABR-1 Tune-o-Matic Bridge
- Two Volume & Two Tone Controls
- 3-way Pickup Switching
- Antique Gold Finish
- Nickel Hardware
- Vintage Tulip-style Tuners

Looks like a beauty, though I expect the price will keep this one well out of range of most guitar players. Still, it’s bound to cost less than an original ; )
