Gibson introduced a new line of historic guitars today, called the Vintage Original Spec™ series, and the one that stands out the most to me is their new ‘56 Les Paul Goldtop – talk about a dream guitar…
Like the other guitars in the Vintage Original Spec series, the 1956 Goldtop sports a new proprietary finishing process – which apparently produces the gently-aged look of a vintage guitar – along with a historically accurate neck profile, unique handcrafting for extreme playability, and period-correct hardware and electronics.
As is to be expected of a historically-accurate ‘56 Les Paul Goldtop, this baby sports dual P-90 single coils, acrylic trapezoid inlays, and even those lovely vintage tulip tuning machines. Nice…
The Gibson 1956 Goldtop Vintage Original Spec Features–
- Carved Maple Top
- Non-Weight Relieved Mahogany Back
- Mahogany Neck With Long Tenon
- Rosewood Fingerboard With 22 Frets
- Antique Gold Finish
- Dual P-90 Single Coil Pickups
- Two Volume & Two Tone Controls

Oh yeah, and it comes with a Gibson Custom Shop case. The big question though – how much is it gonna’ cost? You just know it won’t be cheap.
