Lightweight With A Heavy Sound – Gibson Debuts New Les Paul Vixen Cary Feb 27th

Gibson Les Paul VixenGibson introduced a whopping 15 new guitars at NAMM this year, and at the top of the list were a number of instruments aimed squarely at the female guitarists out there.

To their credit, Gibson doesn’t seem to have scrimped on these beauties, and for the most part you get a lighter, smaller, and easier-to-handle version of the standard Gibson classics they’re based on.

Take the new Les Paul Vixen – it’s got the smooth but throaty 490R & 498T humbuckers that give its brethren so much of their famous tone, but in this case these powerhouse pickups are wired into a lighter-weight, and significantly slimmer mahogany body, presumably making for an instrument with all the power of a Les Paul, but built for the female form.

The Gibson Les Paul Vixen Features–

  • Mahogany Body
  • Mahogany Slim-Taper Neck
  • Rosewood Fingerboard With 22 Frets
  • Diamond Fingerboard Inlays
  • 490R Humbucker (Neck)
  • 498T Humbucker (Bridge)
  • One Volume & Tone Control
  • 3-Way Pickup Switching
  • Grover Tuners
  • Chrome Hardware

The guitar comes a number of new finishes, including Corona Yellow, Caribean Blue, Coral (shown above,) Ebony, and Red.
