According to their website, music123.com is currently carrying an exclusive limited-edition run of Epiphone’s new G-400 Maestro Custom – basically a more wallet-friendly version of Gibson’s extra-super-badass SG Custom Maestro. What they don’t let on to, unfortunately, is just how long this limited-edition run will last.
Like it’s more costly counterpart, the Epiphone G-400 Custom Maestro apparently sports a trio of gold-colored humbucker pickups, a solid mahogany body, and of course the namesake Maestro tremolo tailpiece.
Obviously, at less than $550 you can’t expect the craftsmanship of one of Gibson’s $2,000 Custom models, but if it’s anything like Epiphone’s other G-400s, I won’t be surprised if this new edition proves to be a very solid instrument.
