Last Friday, June 9th, 2006, legendary guitar player and all-around musical innovator Les Paul celebrated his 91st birthday.
While he’s known across the globe as the man whose name graces one of the most popular guitars in rock & roll history – the incredible Gibson Les Paul – many of today’s younger guitarists probably aren’t aware that Les, along with wife Mary Ford, had a string of hits into the 1950s.
Today Les Paul is a still a musical powerhouse, and at 91-years-old he’s certainly a better guitarist than I could ever hope to be. God bless you Les – and Happy Birthday!

91. Jeez.
Not only is Les Paul going to forever be a better guitarist than I, the chances that I’ll remain on the earth 91 years seem decidely slim. Hell, the chances that the world will be here for 72 more years seems decidely slim ha.

Hehe… well said, Charles :) and even when he’s dead and gone his name will live on in the guitar… talk about leaving a legacy!
