For The True Hendrix Fanatic
As if Marshall’s Jimi Hendrix Super 100JH Stack wasn’t enough…
Gibson has now unveiled its Jimi Hendrix Psychedelic Flying V — a historically accurate reproduction of the guitar Hendrix played during his legendary tour of Europe in ‘67 & ‘68.
Besides the accurate hardware, the main sales-point of this instrument is that it features a painstakingly recreated version of the swirling, psychedelic artwork that Jimi himself is said to have painted onto his famous instrument — apparently in fingernail polish.
The Jimi Hendrix Psychedelic Flying V is expected to be the first of Gibson’s new Inspired By guitar series, and is being offered in an incredibly limited run of just 300 pieces… and it ain’t cheap.
Prices are running around $8,000. Ouch!
