Nice! Fender has finally gotten around to posting some sound-clips of their new Super-Sonic 112 tube amp in action, and it sounds seriously sweet.
Just one word of warning though: if you’re a tube fanatic this one could have you busting your bank account wide open!
The Super-Sonic may just be the holy-grail for guitar players like myself who long for the classic warmth and personality of a ‘66 Fender Bassman, the shimmering clean tones of a vintage ‘65 Vibrolux, and the in-your-face sustain and distortion of a modern cascading-overdrive pre-amp.
Go give it a listen – you won’t be sorry…

if you think the super sonic sounds good, you really ought to try the prosonic. the above range of tones, plus a more readily inherent sweetness (subjective, i know) due to the class-a operation and tube rectifier (actually switchable rectifier). when that page with the super sonic clips first appeared i was pretty impressed- but really, it’s just showing different eq settings, not to mention different guitars. the whole thing about ‘bassman circuit’, or ‘vibrolux circuit’ is sheer hype- Fender of late’s greatest failing is that they are compelled to trade on the collectibility of their past by NAME alone, while they should just be making decent, affordable, basic gear. case in point: the 59 Bassman BOSS PEDAL. er, right. it always rubs me the wrong way when they come out with stuff with a year in the model name, in the old days, saying you had a ‘62 Jazzmaster actually MEANT something.

Hello, I own both the Prosonic and recently bought the Super as well. The Prosonic I use with an extra 2-10” celestion cabinet, it has that specific “Blackface” sound with LOTS of overdrive if needed. The Supersonic is a little more subtle, clean both in the jazzier bassman mode and sparkling in the Vibrolux mode, especially when you use a fender strat. The overdrive however is a little less agressive, nice for blues/country and or jazz. I am happy with the both of them, and intend to keep them for a long time… Either one will be a good choice!!
