Well, there were a lot of naysayers, but from the looks of it Squier’s Hello Kitty Stratocaster must be doing more than OK, because they’ve just expanded the line with their new kid’s version of the guitar – the aptly titled Squier Hello Kitty Mini.
Ironically, unlike its bigger sibling, which was stripped down to just a single humbucker and a volume control (no tone control at all,) the Hello Kitty Mini is set-up closer to a standard Stratocaster, with a trio of single-coil pickups, master tone and volume controls, and 5-way pickup switching.
Of course, its also built with a child’s needs in mind, including a shorter 22.75“ scale length for smaller hands, a highly playable maple neck, and of course that grinning Hello Kitty logo with the swirly type (on the pink version,) or a ”cut & paste“ style Hello Kitty logo (on the black model.)
The Squier Hello Kitty Mini Features–
- Laminated Hardwood Body
- Maple Neck With 22.75” Scale Length
- Rosewood Fretboard With 20 Frets
- Three Single-Coil Pickups
- Master Volume & Tone Knobs
- 5-way Pickup Switching
- Hard-Tail Bridge
- Chrome Hardware,
- Engraved Squier Neckplate
- White Pickguard
Looks like a great starter instrument for the would-be Rock Goddess… prices aren’t available yet, but stay tuned!
