Gibson Unveils Versatile New Slash Signature Les Paul Cary Aug 4th

While I’m definitely not what anyone would call a Guns N’ Roses fan, I do appreciate the influence Slash has had on a lot of guitar players, and I think that Gibson’s latest version of the Slash Signature Les Paul is just beautiful in its simplicity, subtle color scheme, and general lack of overt flashiness.
The Dark Tobacco Sunburst finish looks slightly faded to my eyes – in a positive way – and to add to that worn-in look the guitar sports aged nickel hardware, and cream (not white) binding on the neck and top.
It’s also got a Fishman Powerbridge, which, if you haven’t had the experience of playing one for yourself, really does produce a convincing steel-string acoustic tone – vastly increasing the tonal varieties you have at your fingertips. You can even mix its output with the humbuckers…
According to Gibson the Slash Les Paul also features a unique, highly-playable neck profile – customized to Slash’s own specs, and said to be buttery smooth – and a host of other goodies, like a pair of blistering Duncan Alnico Pro II humbucker pickups, and a Nashville TOM bridge.

Slash had a huge influence on me as a young player. I was never a fan of Les pauls but this looks pretty nice.
PS - this is my first visit to your site and it is really good. Congratulations on an awesome guitar blog.
