Well, I was pretty sure I was done blogging for the evening when I got word that Epiphone had released a new, and presumably very affordable tube amp — the Blues Custom 30.
Built by none other than parent company Gibson, the Blues Custom 30 is said to produce that warm tube tone that old-school analog purists like myself are always craving for… and it’s got sweet retro-styling to boot.
According to the announcement, the amp features a pair of newly designed 12“ Lady Luck Eminence speakers, 30 watts of power, two channels (clean & overdrive,) three band EQ, spring reverb, and of course a whole lot of tubes.
I’ll be interested to see how the Blues Custom pans out, but I’m always happy to see another decent, and low-cost tube amp hitting the market.
