Speed Linking: Low-Powered Amps, Digital Les Paul, And More… Cary Feb 6th
Well, my rather messy offline life kind of caught up with me this week, so things have been a bit quiet around here. Never fear, I’ve got a great new series of guitar reviews beginning next week (Strats, Strats, Strats!,) but in the mean time I wanted to drop a few noteworthy links.
Guitar Player Magazine has published an informative “Roundup”-style review of four low-power/high-tone tube amps, including the 65 Marquee Club, Genz-Benz Black Pearl 30 212, George Dennis Spit-Fire Dual Recti, and the Victoria Regal. Definitely worth checking out.
Matt over at Guitar Stuff has been doing some research into Gibson’s much-misunderstood HD.6X Digital Les Paul, and has a great write-up––it’s a highly recommended read for anyone trying to make sense of Gibson’s rather confusing marketing message.
Oh yeah, and BloggingMuses has reviewed a book that I thought some of you might be interested in: How to Write Songs on Guitar: A Guitar-Playing and Songwriting Course. Looks like a worthwhile reference for guitar-based singer/songwriters.

Love the amp reviews. That is what I am in the market for right now … a good mid-wattage amp. Thanks for that … and the link to Blogging Muses too! -dm

Don,
I don’t know how much money you’re looking to spend, but you should definitely take a look at the Atomic Space Tone. Incredible amp: Tiny. Loud. Expressive. Warm. Tubey-Delicious.
Mmmm…
