Too cool… back at the beginning of January Eastwood Guitars promised to unveil a few new prototypes at the Winter NAMM Music Industry Conference, but since I wasn’t there (and I’m guessing you weren’t either,) I missed out.
Anyways, they’ve recently posted some early photos of one of their newest creations, (or should I say re-creations,) the Airline Tuxedo, and as a verified retro-guitar freak I have to say it looks like Eastwood’s got another winner on their hands.
Vintage guitar fiends will note that the Airline Tuxedo is based on the classic Kay Barney Kessel guitar of the ’50s (Right: shown in hollowbody version.) The guitar features a maple top/back/sides, maple neck (with set construction,) a pair of custom-wound P-90 “Kleenex Box” pickups, body & neck binding, vintage-style “Airline” logo on pickguard, and a custom hard case.
An extremely limited first run of the Eastwood Airline Tuxedo is expected to ship in April, and will be available in black, flamed sunburst, and flamed natural finishes (including a left version in back.) Street price of just $899.
They’ve got more pictures on their website, so go check ‘em out.
UPDATE: Make sure you check out the great demo of the Airline Tuxedo over at YouTube… it’s well worth a look. The guitar sounds even better than it looks. Tip of the hat to Gary!

I fell in love with it at the first sight… But the price seems a bit too high. :/
