Fender Building Junkyard Dog ‘51 Tele For Garrett Park Guitars Cary Apr 5th
As part of their LTD Dealer Select Series Fender is building this ‘51 Junkyard Dog Telecaster Relic exclusively for Garrett Park Guitars, in Annapolis, MD.
According to their website, the Junkyard Tele will be built from original tooling, and as far as I can gather will be a bit of a mish-mash of modern & vintage specs. For instance, the guitar sports a single-piece ‘51 “U” shape maple neck, but with the modern convenience of a flatter 9.5” fretboard radius, and those incredibly comfortable Dunlop 6105 frets.
Other highlights include a body of premium light-weight ash (with a Honey Blonde nitro finish,) a pair of Jason Lollar “Junkyard Dog” Tele pickups (w/custom vintage wiring circuit,) bone nut, Electrosocket input jack cup, black Bakelite pickguard, a bit of pre-worn mojo via Fender’s “Medium Relic” treatment, and a hard tweed “thermometer” case accurate to the era.
The guitar will also feature master volume & neck pickup blend controls, a vintage-style bridge w/three notched and compensated brass saddles, a Custom Shop Limited Edition Decal, and a Dealer Select LTD neckplate.
The Fender Junkyard Dog ‘51 Telecaster sells for $3499, and is available exclusively through Garrett Park Guitars.

Is $3499 not a little bit too expensive ?

Yep, it’s a bit rich for my blood, but apparently somone is buying these things because Fender keeps producing them like they’re going out of style.
Nice looker, though!
