Wow, this thing would even make Jerry Garcia cringe… but hey––a free guitar is a free guitar, right?
In a move to promote their Guitar Of The Week series of limited run instruments, Gibson has announced that they’ll be giving away a Les Paul Classic Antique Artist Series guitar.
The guitar, which boasts an AA figured maple top, mahogany back, and a ’60s slim taper mahogany neck, will also sport this exclusive “tie-dye” style finish by artist Tom Morgan.
Other features will include a pair of uncovered ’57 Classic humbuckers with nickel pole-pieces, dual volume & tone controls, 3-way pickup switching, rosewood fretboard, antique fretboard & body binding, amber “top hat” knobs, and green key tuning machines.
You can sign-up for a chance to win the Les Paul Classic Antique Artist Series via Gibson’s contest page. Good Luck!

Seriously, what is Gibson thinking with this finish? They’ve had that guitar up on their site for a while, but why? It should be a sin to take such high-quality maple and stain it like that. And still, because I’m cheap, I’d accept it if I won it.

Hehe… this thing is truly frightening, though it wouldn’t be bad with the finish completely stripped :)

great for the one who will win it ! it´s not the finish we are used to, but at least a real gibson…
