Well, I’ve been following the newish ig blog for the last couple of weeks, and I have to say this guy is publishing some of the best all-around “guitar lifestyle” material that I’ve seen in the blogosphere––well worth adding to your feed reader.
And while you’re at it you might want to check out his ongoing series on the CAGED chord system––primo stuff. I’ve been toying with the idea of doing a lesson on this this same material, but hey… if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Besides, ig has probably done a far better job of presenting it than I would have.
Anyway, if the idea of learning most of the chords across the entire neck of your guitar seems daunting to say the least, then the CAGED system, which relies on a pattern of five easily memorized movable chord shapes, is definitely for you. It’s an age-old system, and the one that took me personally from stumbling six-string fool, to at least a passable guitar player.
Check it out. Highly recommended.
