Well, if you frequent the popular guitar forums you’ve probably noticed there’s been a lot of conflicting opinion on whether Electro-Harmonix’s new Hum DeBugger effects pedal truly lives up to the company’s hype of “Dead silence in your signal chain.”
Not being one to shy away from opinion, I figured it was time to put one of these babies through its paces––so, here’s a first look at the Hum Debugger, fresh out of the box.
I’ll be posting a full review in the next few weeks (as soon as I have time to really run this thing through the gauntlet,) but for now I can tell you that after just an hour with the Hum Debugger I’m pretty damned impressed––the pedal is not “perfect” perhaps, with some decidedly minor coloring of the tone, but so far I am more than satisfied with the results.
Of course, my opinion could change quickly as I try out a few different set-ups, so stay tuned… I’ll record some mp3 samples as well, so you can judge the quality of the Hum Debugger for yourself.
