Well, here’s your chance to win a bit of re-issued history… Epiphone & Guitar World have apparently teamed together to give away an Epiphone Elitist 1965 Casino––a reissue of the guitar used at various times by three of the Beatles, and to this day Epiphone’s most celebrated instrument.
To be honest, I’ve been drooling over these ever since they were first re-isssued, but so far the price tag has remained a bit too rich for my blood.
Now, I’m not sure about the other members of the band, but I do know that John Lennon’s ’65 Casino saw serious action on two of the Beatles’ albums, Revolver and Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, and the guitar was used extensively during the band’s final world tour.
The 1965 Casino Elitist features a 5-ply maple hollowbody design, mahogany neck (24-3/4“ scale length,) rosewood fingerboard with 22 frets, P90 singlecoil rhythm pickup, P90 singlecoil reverse treble pickup, dual volume & tone controls, 3-way pickup switching, and a hard-shell case.
You can sign up for a chance to win one of these beauties via Guitar World’s 1965 Casino Giveaway page. Good luck!
