The RKS Wave Hollowbody is the brainchild of Ravi K. Sawhney, PhD, a design visionary who until 2000, wasn’t the least bit involved with guitars. This is another one of those Steinberger or Parker stories where a guy suddenly looks at the guitar and immediately the wheels start turning– and they don’t stop until he’s reinvented it

And no, Sawhney’s approach to conventional luthiery doesn’t reflect Alex Csiky of Zachary Guitars “luthier’s gone wild” arrogance. Csiky’s recent interview in Esquire Magazine wouldn’t make the cut in a Guitar Magazine.  The industry can always use new creative wizards who calmly move forward with real innovations.  Trash talkin’ just walks.

GP Magazine’s May 2007 NAMM Summary was my introduction to RKS.  GP also featured RKS in their Feb., April & July 2006 issues.  Check out Editor Michael Molenda’s rave review in July ‘06.  Another interesting note is that guitar legend Dave Mason is involved with RKS as an actual partner in the company.

Yes, I know I haven’t actually told you anything about these guitars.  Simply click on the RKS text links and above image.  The website is way cool, with plenty of background, photos and techie details.  I think we’re gonna be seeing a lot from RKS in the future.

As for that other character…  Simply compare the two websites.
