Wow, I can’t believe we’re already 22 weeks into this thing… early this morning Gibson announced yet another installment in their limited-run Guitar Of The Week series, and it’s definitely a beauty––the new Les Paul Supreme Gold.
The guitar appears to possess the same slightly over the top accoutrements as the other instruments in the Les Paul Supreme family, with one exception––the Supreme’s traditional AAAA flamed maple top & back have been replaced by a plain maple top & mahogany back, and the whole thing’s been decked out in Gibson’s ever-popular gold finish.
And talk about some bling––other unique features include 22 gold-tinted alloy frets, gold hardware (tailpiece, bridge, pickup covers,) gold speed knobs, gold Grover Keystone tuners, and a brass truss-rod cover.
The Les Paul Supreme Gold will also sport a chambered mahogany body with top & back binding (7-ply top, 3-ply back,)
a rounded profile mahogany neck, ebony fretboard (24 3/4“ scale length,) pearl split block inlays, 490R Alnico humbucker at the neck, 498T Alnico humbucker at the bridge, dual volume & tone controls, and 3-way pickup switching.
The guitar will come with a black reptile pattern hardshell case (w/whit plush interior,) and will be available in a run of just 400 instruments.

Speaking as a man with both a gold top and a sparkly silver Dano: that’s just gaudy!

Gorgeous guitar, I own it and love it and it’s not gaudy, just elegant!
