In an effort to promote their Campaign To Save Darfur, including the release of the new Instant Karma CD (a musical collaboration that includes many contemporary artists plus the works of John Lennon,) Amnesty International has apparently teamed with Epiphone & WB Records to give away an Epi John Lennon Casino––one of the nicer guitars in Epiphone’s current lineup.
The instrument is a painstakingly accurate re-ssiue of the guitar that John Lennon played heavily throughout the recording of the Beatles’ “Revolver” and “Sgt. Pepper” albums, not to mention the band’s third world tour, including the now famous final last performance at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park.
Features include a 5-layer (Maple/Birch/Maple/Birch/Maple) body, mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard with pearloid inlays, original serial number on back of headstock, a pair of dog-eared P-90 pickups, and a vintage-style case with shroud.
