Missed out on a Blackie Strat? Well here’s yet another Clapton/Fender collaboration that’s destined to become an instant collector’s item––the extremely limited edition Crossroads Stratocaster, and matching Crossroads ‘57 Twin.
To raise money for Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Center, Antigua––a drug & alcohol addiction rehabilitation facility the guitarist founded in 1998––Clapton has once again teamed up with Fender’s illustrious Custom Shop in Corona, Calif.––this time to produce just 100 hand-crafted Crossroads Stratocaster guitars, and 50 Crossroads ‘57 Twin amplifiers.
The instruments, which have been meticulously built to Clapton’s specifications (and bear a custom “Crossroads Antqua” graphic he originally drew himself,) will be made available to the public on July 20th, just a week before Clapton kicks of his massive Crossroads Guitar Festival 2007 in Chicago on July 28th. All proceeds will go to the Crossroads Center, Antigua.
Two distinct packages will be available:
The Gold Package will include the Eric Clapton Crossroads Stratocaster––which comes with an Anvil road case and a Limited Edition print signed by the photographer––plus a bunch of extras, including a Crossroads guitar strap, Eric Clapton Limited Edition guitar picks, a signed certificate of authenticity, and an official Crossroads Concert program.
This package is being produced in a global run of just 50 units, and is valued at $20,000 per Stratocaster.
The Platinum Package will include the Eric Clapton Crossroads Stratocaster paired with a Crossroads ‘57 Twin-Amp––an exclusive set that will also feature an Anvil road case and a Limited Edition print signed by the photographer. Extras will include a Crossroads guitar strap, Eric Clapton Limited Edition guitar picks, a signed certificate of authenticity, Clapton’s autograph on the amplifier, and a Tour Laminate, set-list, and official concert program.
This one is being produced in a global run of just 50 units, and is valued at $30,000 for the Strat/Twin set.
Both packages will be available by reservation only––see Fender’s online Reservation Form to sign-up.

Hehe… tremspeed, I think you’re seriously underestimating the draw of Mr. Clapton. ;) I had similar reservations about the $24,000 ‘Blackie’ replica, and it ended up selling out in seven hours.
