aaaaaaaaaahahahahaha right on the money mark !! i bought a custom shop gibson explorer once a number of years ago.it humbed and wouldn't stay in tune.3 times in the shop.finally got my money back.i now have a joe perry epiphone{gibson} les paul, which is a fraction of the price of the gibson version {same pick ups/burstbuckers} and if anyone can explain the justification of why the price difference between epiphone and gibson {same company} is so far apart,i'd like to know.but i wouldn't waste that time because there isn't any.gibson and fender made and still make fantastic guitars, but their prices are out of most peoples leagues and that's a shame........darren

When does the madness stop. If they sell it for $5,000, Gibson banks probably $4,300. All because it looks like something Lennon played at his One to One concert in New York -- even though that show sucked and Lennon's guitar sound was nothing to get excited about.

While I'm at it, let's not leave Fender out of the corporate greed. Ever here of those Custom Shop experts who put their name on the guitar, then the guitar sells for like four times an American Standard? Well, are we all forgetting that Strats and Teles were once put together by unskilled ladies and men making a little above minimum wage? And now those guitars are selling for $40,000.

Fender and Gibson are laughing all the way to the bank. Their plan meetings must be a riot. "Hey, let's do a John Lennon guitar not done yet. It'll cost us nearly nothing to build and we'll make a profit of thousands off all the losers who get so subjective and sentimental they are sure the guitar is going to make them sound like their idol."

I know nothing will stop you. Go throw your money away.

not to mention the 25k evh frankenstrat replica, a guitar that originally cost the man himself a few hundred to assemble. (60s strat trem and original PAF notwithstanding).

it seems like both gibson and fender are doing really cool affordable stuff (the faded series being one of the best deals in cheap guitars ever from gibson), fairly expensive 'standard' stuff, and off-the-charts ludicrously priced 'collector' stuff. can't say it's not an interesting time for guitars!

tremspeed––it's coming in at right around $5,000.

A fortune to me, for sure, but not too bad when you consider that the Andy Summers Tele is selling for close to $24,000... yikes!

I wouldn't mind owning one of these beauties, but I'd love to know who it is that's actually buying a $24,000 guitar.

That's a beaut. I am currently enjoying the Vintage Mahogany LP, so I love the look, and I'm sure this one is stellar up close.
