Sneak Peek: Flying Eye Envelope Filter Due From ProTone At Winter NAMM Cary Aug 17th

Protone Flying EyeWord on the street has it that ––makers of some of the world’s most wonderfully raunchy guitar effects––will be unveiling at least three new pedals at the upcoming Winter NAMM 2008 show in Anaheim.

But while the Brown Sugar Vibrato and Peligro Fuzz both sound like fun pedals for analog-effects fanatics, to my mind the new Envelope Filter is where the gold’s gonna’ be.

Auto-Wah Goodness  Of course, I’m a bit prone to falling in love with new envelope filters (EMMA DiscumBOBulator? Mmmmm,) but what struck me about the Flying Eye is that like the EMMA its got some cool Reverse Sweep capabilities as well, which should add a whole new layer of 70’s lounge tone to an already classic effect.

Unfortunately, ProTone’s Brown Sugar Vibrato––a Brownface vibrato simulator––appears to still be in Top Secret mode, but you can catch demos of the and over on the ProTone Pedal YouTube page.
