Actually, there IS such a tremolo. Line6 makes it. It's called "Line6 Tap Tremolo" and it's really awsome.

Wow... you mean some sort of dynamic tremolo? Hmmm... no, the Ultrem definitely isn't dynamic in that sense––you can't adjust its speed or intensity via picking attack, though from what I understand you can dynamically adjust these settings via an external expression pedal.

Unfortunately, I didn't have one around to test this out.

Thanks for the link BTW... those are some crazy looking pedals––I'll have to see if I can get a few in for review :)

I have a question about the Ultrem.
An outfit named L.A.L used to make a pedal called RIPPLET
that was (/is) an "input sensitive tremolo". I never tried or even saw one of these but the way I understood it, the tremolo would be dependent on the input. I'm guessing that hard/loud notes would "trem" loud/fast and soft notes then would "trem" softer/slower. I thought this sounded like a really cool effect and my question would be if you'd say this is something that the Ultrem is capable of doing?

I've never ordered anything from them but check out the current L.A.L. line up of, well let's just say 'out of the ordinary' pedals here:
