Washburn-PreacherWashburn-Preacher-Paul-StanleyNever long to stay out of the limelight, guitarist Paul Stanley and venerable guitar maker have apparently teamed up on yet another new addition to the Paul Stanley Signature Series of instruments… introducing the Preacher.

Designed by Stanley himself in close collaboration with the luthiers over at Washburn, the Preacher will be available in four different varieties––two higher end Custom Shop models (the PS9000 & PS9200,) and two lower-cost production models as well (PS7000 & PS7200.)

While full specs for all four guitars would be too long to list here, suffice it to say that each of these models appear to sport a uniquely shaped mahogany body, mahogany set-neck, Grover 18:1 tuning machines, and electronics that run the gamut from dual Egnater pickups on the lower-end models to a pair of badass Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates humbuckers on the PS9200.

List prices begin at just over $1200, with the top-of-the-line PS9200 listing for $3899.90.

Looks like a Les Paul that melted and ended up with a penguin’s beak for a cutaway. I’m going to vote…no.

  2. G L Wilson Says:

In looks it’s somewhere between a Les Paul and a Dean Cadillac.

  3. Gordon Says:

    … I prefer the Cadillac.

  4. A.M. Says:

It IS a Dean Cadillac. I’m waiting on the lawsuit… this isn’t original AT ALL.

This is a KILLER guitar. I too was saying, “Oh Paul put out ANOTHER guitar”, then I actually tried it. It is amazing! The neck access alone is the reason to get this over the old tried and true LP. Plus, it has a TON of standard items that I normally end up replacing on my other LPs. Pearly Gates are amazing in this, and Tone Pros with 18-1 Grovers – Nice! Not sure about the Buzz Feiten system yet, but boy this one had an incredible ring all the way up the fretboard. I thought I’d put it down, but now I can’t. I’ve played it – and now I WANT IT. Yep, I’m converted. This is a killer, professional, real deal machine!
