Short But Sweet Video Demo Of The Love Pedal Eternity Overdrive

Thu, Dec 13, 2007

Ever since guitar-slinger extraordinaire Andy Summers gushed about the Eternity Overdrive pedal in Guitar Player Magazine I’ve been keeping an eye out for a decent video demo.

Coming from a fairly small boutique effects shop––Love Pedal––these babies aren’t easy to find at your local “big box” guitar retailer, so taking one for a test drive is an impossibility for most.

Of course, you could always take Summers’ word for it (and I’m tempted to,) but if you’re averse to throwing down some $230 for what could end up being just another slightly-tweaked TS clone, well, you’ll definitely want to keep an eye out for a demo or two.

Anyway, here’s a short but sweet demo of the , which I stumbled onto this morning. Oh, and here’s back in Sept, ‘07.  Ciao!

the Eternity is based on Jack Orman’s “Son of Screamer” circuit which is based on the Tube Screamer. I think it leaves off the clipping diodes and input/output buffers but im not 100% sure since the schematic for the “Son of Screamer” is hard to find for free on the net. I think some blokes in England cloned the Eternity and had them for sale on ebay a while back.

Not to take away from the pedal, but there’s something to be said for a good Tele, fresh strings and a player with good hands.

Not to mention a high-quality amplifier…having said that, it all added up to a pretty sweet-sounding demo.

damn sweet guitar and that sound is not bad.. could do with a touch more warmth to it. I wonder what amp he is going through
