A Few Words From The Young Widower Cary Dec 27th

The Widower SmallDear friends and fellow guitar freaks…. while time is undoubtedly flying by for many of you, today marks just two months since my dear wife Lori passed away in my arms at the tender age of 31.

It has been a long and hard battle just to keep my head above water in the last eight weeks, and Christmas in particular was nearly all that I could bear.

Anyway, I guess I just wanted to send you all a warm Thank You, from the very bottom of my heart––for all of your well wishes, kind words, and prayers.

Things have been pretty slow around EGR, as you’ve no doubt noticed. I haven’t really had the heart to pick up a guitar for review (though I’ve been playing my acoustic to keep my sanity,) and it’s been pretty slow “News” time for the guitar world as well.

That said, January is coming up quick, and with it Winter NAMM 2008, which should make for lots of interesting News posts in the near future.

Sadly, this was the first year that EGR had been invited to attend NAMM, and while I was really hoping to be there to blog the whole thing live, that is simply not how things turned out to be.

To be honest, the idea of being far from my home (about the only place I feel comfortable right now,) is a bit more than I could probably handle at this time.

Still, you can expect plenty of NAMM coverage here at EGR in the weeks to come, and I hope to be back to writing regular hands-on reviews and the like just as soon as my soul has healed enough to allow me to do so.

Thanks again for all of your support, and here’s hoping you all had a far better Christmas than I.

Oh yeah, and thanks for watching my back.

C.

    Cary,

All will be well with us; we just want to see you better and will be waiting and ready when you are. I was just talking about you to my girlfriend a few days ago and hoping that you were coping with the holidays. I know, from experience, that this time of the year can be tough.

Cary, losing a spouse is the hardest thing at any time of year. I cannot imagine the pain. Don’t worry about us, you just take care of yourself and do what you need to do. Cheers from Canada.

    Dude

Its too be expected honestly. To lose someone so close to you is got to be if not the hardest thing a person can go through in life. Having lost someone myself that was part of my family I can grasp a little of what it feels like but to lose someone who is your wife that I cant even imagine

There is a great deal of inner turmoil, that no amount of words can bring comfort too

It makes things feel somewhat meangingless, and it certainly makes you think about life and what its all about.

Carey, do you have family that lives close or any work friends that you see and can chat with?

Let me know if you want a listening ear… Peace Jon

Sorry for your loss. I’ll offer a prayer or 10.

    Nice site.
